Postdoctoral Researcher

Jonathan Dereje holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, with a specialized focus on seismic response evaluation. His research is dedicated to enhancing the performance and resilience of structures subjected to extreme events, particularly earthquakes and strong wind loads. Currently, his work extends into the field of wind engineering, where he conducts wind tunnel experiments and fluid–structure interaction (FSI) analyses to investigate aeroelastic instabilities, wind-induced vibrations, and structural behavior under dynamic wind conditions. Through this interdisciplinary approach, he aims to contribute to the development of safer and more resilient infrastructure by advancing multi-hazard risk assessment methodologies that integrate expertise from both seismic and wind engineering domains.
