Muhammad Naeem Owais

Phd Candidate

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan (2005), and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Concordia University, Canada (2010). As part of my master’s studies, I conducted a nine-month research project in computational aerodynamics at McGill University, where I was twice awarded the Graduate Research Assistant Award.
Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University, Canada which I commenced in the Winter 2024 term. My research focuses on investigating the thermal impact of trees in modifying the urban microclimate, with particular emphasis on the variation of convective heat transfer coefficients on building exteriors influenced by vegetation. My work integrates both computational and experimental approaches to advance understanding in the fields of thermo-fluid science and environmental heat transfer.
